Bad Tits: 'No Skin' music video

So I was going through my emails tonight and came across this one from The Great White North. I admit, the group's name caught my attention but the music didn't keep it.

Internet Killed The Video Star

This is one of the best music videos I've seen lately. I love the irony and bikini clad zombies, but the song is not in my realm of taste. Still, I thought I'd share as this genre is uber popular here in Austin with the kids.

New music video from We Have Band: "OH!"

We Have Band is an indie-electro dance outfit from The U.K. Their new music video for their single "OH!"caught my attention. The song is alright, danceable but nothing world changing. It reminds me of the stuff you hear walking by Barbarella on Red River. Watching the video, I thought it looked like an American Apparel commercial if they actually did that sort of thing. I think a lot of people will like this though, so I decided to share it with you all for shits and giggles. Check it out:

Album Review: Vinyl Dharma EP

Vinyl Dharma is a five-piece indie-electro outfit from the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas but has called Austin home for the past few years. After making an immediate entrance into the Live Music Capital’s local scene and capturing national attention on MTV2, Vinyl Dharma recently released what may be the best EP the Austin indie music scene has yet to embrace. The six-song, self-titled EP may be Austin’s best kept secret.

"Sweet Carrie" by Nightwaves

I like this song. It came to me as one of those random press release emails that flood my inbox everyday. The song is from the band Nightwaves and is called "Sweet Carrie". It's kind of a poppy electronica song that reminds me of radio friendly synth pop. Check it out.

Can't Stop Thinking About Zlam Dunk!

I saw Zlam Dunk last night at The Parish. They opened up for Bright Light Social Hour. Talk about a killer line up! Zlam Dunk is one of my favorite local bands, local being out of San Marcos as they are Texas State students. Their fans are loyal, enthusiastic and wild. It totally reflects the spirit of the band. If I were a 20-something student, I'd want to be in that band. I'd want to be the hype man with the mic and tamborine. He looks like he has fun.

12/6 Sunday Night Show Pick: Deluka at Republic Live

Thanks to the power of publicists and emailing, I got word last minute of a cool show happening at Republic Live, located on 301 W. 5th Street. Touring the U.S. all the way from Birmingham, West Midlands England is indie-electro pop group, Deluka. I get email blasts all the time now and have to pass on all sorts of cool stuff due to time, not interest. It is also rare I go out on a Sunday night, but I think I may venture out to catch these guys. Plus, I have never been to Republic Live. I have always passed by it and figured it was another douche bag Warehouse District type bar, bottle service and all. Maybe it is; I'll find out I guess. I hope this doesn't mean I have to go get something from Ed Hardy to fit in.

Deluka is one of those European bands I got wind of on NME, one of my favorite music sites from Europe other than Last FM. The first thing you'll notice is the foxy lead singer, Ellie Innocenti. I doubt that's her actual last name, but whatever. Her name sounds almost as hot as her voice. Her voice combined with the band's '80s retro sound reminds me of bands like The Start or even the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. It's hard for me to think of who I can compare them with so that casual music fans can grasp.

The band is touring to support their current self titled EP, a quick five song mix of electro goodness indie girls like to dance to. Since I'm at a lack for words in terms of description, I've posted a Tunecore widget that has the songs from their EP. This way, you can listen and draw your own conclusions or comparisons. Listening to their music does make me miss '80s new wave.
